S. S. POLYMERS (INDIA)

S. S. Polymers (INDIA) is basically a group of us who work with plastic materials all day. We don’t have a fancy storefront to show off, and we mostly deal with the industrial side of things. It’s a lot of sacks of raw material and the smell of machines heating up. We’ve been around the trade for a long time now. Working with polymers is messy and hot, but it’s what we know how to do. The guys on the floor have seen every kind of mold and mix you can imagine. We don’t spend much time on computers or making things look pretty for a catalog. Most of our day is just checking the temperature of the injectors and making sure the cooling cycles are right. It’s repetitive, sure, but there’s a logic to it that we like. If a batch comes out wrong, we just start over until it’s right. We aren't trying to be the biggest name out there, just trying to keep the machines running and the orders moving out. Sometimes the power goes out or a part breaks, and we spend the afternoon fixing it ourselves. That’s just the reality of running a small polymer shop in India. We take our tea breaks together and then get back to the noise of the plant. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy through the week. We just worry about the quality of the plastic and getting the weight right for the customers. It is not fancy, but it works.
