Out here in Orgadam Village, things are a bit spread out. Our place is at A-51 in the Sipcot Industrial Growth Center, which is part of the Sriperumbudur Taluk in Kancheepuram. It’s a long way from the city, but this is where all the big plants are. We have a lot of space here for all the cable trays and electrical fittings we handle. The warehouse is huge and the ceiling is really high, which helps keep it a bit cooler. We spend a lot of our time moving heavy pallets around with the forklift. There’s always the sound of metal clanging as things get loaded onto trucks. The team is usually busy checking the inventory lists against what’s actually on the shelves. It’s a very practical environment. We have a small office area tucked into one side where the computers are, but most of the action happens out on the floor. The road outside can get very dusty because of all the construction and the big lorries passing by. We have a small canteen where we all eat lunch together and talk about the weekend. It’s a steady kind of work. We aren't trying to be anything fancy, just a group of people making sure these industrial parts get to the construction sites on time. The sun gets really strong out here in the afternoons, so we stay inside mostly.
