Our place is out on Kulan Road in Bhuna, which is part of the Fatehabad district. It’s a pretty straightforward setup where we make doors and different types of furniture. If you walk into KAMCO DOORS & FURNITURE IND., you’ll mostly hear the sound of saws and machines running. It gets quite dusty, as you’d expect with wood and board work. We started this because there was a need for solid stuff around here that doesn't fall apart after a year. We have a few guys who have been working the machines for a long time. They know their way around a piece of timber. We don't really have a fancy showroom. Most of what we make is sitting there waiting to be loaded onto a truck or being worked on at the bench. The address is 125111, if you’re looking it up on a map. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that's just how it is in this part of Punjab. We don't do much in the way of fancy catalogs. People usually just come by, tell us what they need for their house or their shop, and we figure out the measurements. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. We just try to make things that last. It isn't always easy, but we enjoy seeing the finished pieces go out and get put to use in someone's home.
