Our shop is right by the Bara Bagan Bye Pass in Suri. If you’re driving through Birbhum, you might have seen us. It’s a busy road and there’s always a lot of dust from the trucks passing by. We deal with solar products. It’s a good business to be in around here because the sun is always out. Our place is basically a warehouse with a small office at the front. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading panels. It’s heavy work and it gets hot in the afternoons. My son helps me with the accounts, though he’d rather be doing something else I think. We have a couple of technicians who travel out to the villages to set things up. They come back with stories about the roads and the tea they got at the farms. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just stop by when they see the sign from the road. We keep a stock of batteries and wires too. It’s a bit cluttered inside, but we know where everything is. We just try to provide what people need for their homes. It’s a practical business and we take things one day at a time. Sometimes the local kids come by to ask questions about how the panels work and we try to explain it.
