We work with pumps and valves. It’s a very hands-on kind of business. We spend most of our time dealing with heavy metal parts and making sure everything fits together exactly how it’s supposed to. Pumps and valves might not sound very exciting to most people, but they are pretty much everywhere if you look closely. We have a lot of tools around the shop. The floor is usually a bit greasy from the oil we use to keep the parts moving smoothly. We wear work clothes because things get dirty fast. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean all day. We have a small team of guys who know the mechanics of these things inside and out. We talk about the specs and the pressures while we work. It’s a lot of manual labor and using the lathe. We take pride in the fact that we can fix things or build them from scratch. Sometimes a part doesn't fit right and we have to go back and adjust it until it does. It takes patience. We don’t have a fancy showroom. If you come by, you’ll just see us working on the current project. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things lively. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Every valve and pump that leaves our place gets checked by hand. We aren't interested in cutting corners because that just leads to trouble later. It's a steady way to make a living and we've been doing it for quite some time now. We just focus on the mechanics.
