Bison Shelter System is mostly about building things that are meant to stay put. We work with steel and heavy panels all day long. The name sounds a bit tough, but we are just a bunch of regular people. We spend our days measuring, cutting, and welding things together in the shop. It is a bit of a dusty environment and the smell of hot metal is always in the air. We don’t have a fancy showroom for people to walk through. Most of our finished work is just sitting out in the yard under some heavy tarps until it’s ready to be moved. We make shelters for all sorts of practical uses. Some are for storage and others are for workers to use as a break room. It is straightforward work. We don’t have any mission statements or anything like that written on the walls. We just have a large whiteboard with a list of current orders and some phone numbers scribbled on the side. Sometimes we have to go out to a customer's site to help put the structures up, which is a nice break from being in the shop. The work is heavy and we’re all pretty tired by the time Friday comes around. We usually close up early on Saturdays to get some rest. It is just an honest way to make a living and we don't put on any acts.
