Advance Packaging

Advance Packaging is our small operation where we put together boxes and wrapping for all sorts of things. We don't have a permanent address listed in the main files, but we operate out of a local space that fits our needs for now. Packaging isn't the most glamorous job, but everything needs a box or a bag to get where it’s going. We spend a lot of time around cardboard and tape. Our hands get dry from the paper, and there is always that smell of glue in the air. We have a few cutting machines that we have to watch closely so they don't go off the line. It’s just a few of us working here. We don't have titles like manager or director on our shirts; we just all jump in and do what needs doing. If there’s a big shipment going out, we all help load it. Some days are slow and we just tidy up the stacks of flat boxes. Other days, we can barely move because there is so much stock everywhere. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. Most of our work comes from people we’ve worked with for years. We just try to get the dimensions right and make sure the boxes are strong enough to hold whatever is going inside them. If a box isn't folded right, we just toss it and start again. That is just how we keep things moving here without making a big deal of it.
