If you head down to Road No. 4 in the Ida Kondapalli area, you’ll find us at Plot No. 207. This part of Ibrahimpatnam is mostly industrial, so there’s always the sound of machinery and big lorries moving around. We are in the food business here in Vijayawada, specifically dealing with processing and getting items ready for the market. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a functional space where the work gets done. It gets incredibly hot in the summer months, especially with the metal roofs in this mandal, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early in the morning. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for a bit. We don't spend money on big advertisements or anything like that. We just focus on the orders that come in from the local distributors. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which is just part of the routine. The office is usually cluttered with invoices and sample bags of different food products. It’s a bit messy, but we know where everything is. Living and working in Krishna district means being used to the humidity and the constant bustle of the trade routes. We just do our part in the chain and head home to our families at the end of the shift. It's a living.
