We’re over at Akme Palace on Wellington Street in the Dhobi Talav area of Mumbai. Belocal Consulting Llp is tucked away in room 205. If you know Mumbai, you know how busy and loud it can get around here. Our office is a small escape from all that noise, though you can still hear the traffic if the window is open. We aren’t one of those massive firms in a glass skyscraper. We’re just a small group of people working in an older building with a lot of character. The elevator works most of the time, but we usually just take the stairs anyway to save time. Our day-to-day is pretty basic. We answer a lot of questions and try to keep our clients' paperwork in order. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy speeches for us. We just write things down as we see them. It gets pretty cramped in here when we have a lot of files, but we make it work. Most of our furniture was bought second-hand and it does the job. We like being in this part of the city because everything is close by. You can get a good tea right downstairs. We just show up, do the hours, and head home like everyone else. It’s a simple business run by people who live right here in the city and understand how things work.
