M/S Suraj Diamond & Jewellery Ltd

Down here in Goa, we run M/S Suraj Diamond & Jewellery Ltd from House Number 202/2 in Koniwada, Colvale. It’s in Bardez, away from the main tourist beaches. It’s a bit more peaceful here, which helps when you are dealing with jewelry and fine details. We aren't a big showroom with bright lights and velvet cushions. Our place is more of a workshop where the actual work happens. People find us through word of mouth mostly. We have been in Colvale for a long time and the locals know us. The building is an old style house that we’ve converted to fit our needs. It’s got thick walls which keeps it cool even when it’s hot outside. We spend our days looking at stones and metal. It’s quiet work. Sometimes the humidity is a bother, but you get used to it living in Goa. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just focus on the jewelry we are making. If someone wants to see us, they usually have to call ahead because we might be busy with a specific piece. It’s a small operation, just a few of us working together. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just like making things and staying in our corner of Bardez. It is a slow and steady process that we enjoy. Sometimes we take a short break to watch the monsoon rain from the porch.
