Aizawl Organic Spices Producer Company Limited

Our place is situated up in Durtlang North and we are not very far from the ICFAI campus. If you are heading up that way you will probably find us easily enough. We focus almost entirely on spices. Spices grow really well in this part of Aizawl if you treat the ground with care. We avoid using any artificial stuff and we keep everything strictly organic. It makes the ginger and the turmeric smell much stronger and we think it tastes better too. There is a group of us local farmers who all contribute to the company. We have a small area where we spread the spices out to dry after they are harvested from the hills. It involves a lot of waiting for the right kind of weather. If the air is too damp then the drying process takes forever and we have to be patient. We do not have a big factory or anything. It is just a practical setup near the main road. Most days we stay busy sorting through the harvest or checking the plants on the steep hillsides. We formed the company so we could sell our spices together as a group instead of everyone trying to do it on their own. It is just easier to manage that way. We do not have any marketing experts or sales teams. We just know how to grow good spices. People around Durtlang North know what we are doing.
