R M Dress Creations is located down in the basement of house A 73/1 in the GTK Industrial Area. It’s right near the old telephone exchange, which is how most people find us if they get lost. Working in a basement means we don't get much sun, but it stays a bit cooler in the summer months when Delhi gets really hot. There’s usually a lot of noise from the other units in the block, but that’s just how it is in an industrial area. We have our cutting tables and sewing machines set up to handle the dress orders that come through. It’s a lot of manual work and we spend most of our time hunched over the fabric. The space is a bit tight because of all the rolls of cloth and the finished pieces waiting to be packed up. We aren't fancy and we don't have a big front desk or anything like that. People just walk down the stairs and find us working. It’s a busy place and there’s always a bit of dust from the threads and the machines. We try to keep things organized, but when we have a big deadline, things can get a little messy. Most of the staff has been here for a while, and we all just know what needs to be done to get the dresses finished on time. It’s honest work in a tough part of town.
