Welcome Auto Spares

I spend most of my days here at Lawrence Road Transport Centre. Being in DDA Market 20 means there is always a lot of noise from the trucks and the mechanics nearby. Welcome Auto Spares has been around for quite a bit now. It is a small shop, but we try to keep it organized enough so we can find what a customer needs without making them wait too long in the heat. There are piles of gaskets, belts, and engine parts all over the shelves. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty because of the location, but that is just how it is in a transport hub. My cousin usually helps me out when things get busy in the afternoons. We don't have a fancy computer system to track every little bolt, so we rely on what we know is in the back room. If someone brings in a broken part, we look through the bins to see if the replacement is sitting there. It is a lot of standing around and talking to drivers who are in a hurry to get back on the road. We drink a lot of tea while we work. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, but it stays open late if there is work to be done. Most people around here know where we are. We just keep doing what we do every day. It's a living and we know the parts well enough. I guess we will be here for many more years as long as those trucks keep running.
