Transport Corpration Of India

Our office is found at Khasra No 393 and 405 in Alipur Ghari, New Delhi. Transport Corporation of India is the name on our gate, and we have a fairly large yard here for the trucks. It’s not the most glamorous part of Delhi, and it gets quite muddy when the weather is bad. We spend most of our time dealing with drivers and checking the manifests for all the goods coming through. It’s a lot of noise and exhaust fumes, but that’s just the nature of the transport business. We don't have a lot of fancy office equipment, just the basics to get the job done. The desks are a bit old and we have calendars from three years ago still hanging on the walls. We don't bother with corporate slogans or mission statements. We’re just here to make sure the cargo gets moved from one place to another. Sometimes there are problems with the trucks or the loads aren't right, and we have to spend the whole day fixing it. It’s hard, physical work for the guys in the yard and a lot of paperwork for those of us in the office. We’ve been at this Alipur Ghari location for a long time now. We know the regular drivers and we have a good laugh with them when things aren't too busy. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living and we don’t try to make it sound like anything else.
