Tansen Sangeet Mahavidhyalaya

Tansen Sangeet Mahavidhyalaya is situated in Rohini Sector 7. The exact spot is C/9/12/397 on the main road. Being on the main road means it's easy to find, but the traffic noise is always there in the background. Our rooms are filled with musical instruments like tablas and sitars. It is not a very modern building. The paint is peeling in a few corners and the furniture is quite old. We don't really mind because the focus is on the music. Students come in at all hours, especially in the late afternoon. You can hear someone practicing the harmonium while someone else is trying to get their vocals right in the next room. It’s a bit of a noisy place, but in a good way. We have a few mats on the floor where people sit and learn. It’s a very traditional way of doing things. We don't have a big office staff. Usually, one of the teachers handles the phone calls and the paperwork between classes. There is a small water cooler near the entrance that everyone uses. We’ve been here in Rohini for many years, and most of the locals know where we are. We don't do any big advertisements. People just hear the music and stop by to ask about lessons. It’s a relaxed, lived-in space that suits what we do.
