Slum & Jj Department

This is the office for the Slum & Jj Department located in Dhirpur. Ravikumar, who is the son of Sh. Brij Mohan, helps run things from H.No-383. We are right near the Shiv Mandir in Nirankari Colony, so it's a pretty easy landmark to find. Delhi is always crowded and our corner of it is no different. We deal with a lot of people coming in and out every day, asking about housing or community issues. It's not a glamorous job, just a lot of files and talking to folks who need help with their living situations. The heat in Delhi during the summer makes the office a bit stuffy, but we keep the fans going and keep working. Nirankari Colony has its own rhythm and we are just a small part of it. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up because there’s so much to do, but we try to keep things moving as fast as we can. We aren't some big private firm, just a department trying to manage the local needs here. You'll often find Ravikumar busy with some resident or another, sorting out whatever problem has come up that day. It's a lot of listening and trying to find solutions that work for the people living in the slums around here. It can be stressful, but it's important work for the neighborhood and the city.
