Shree Ganesh Fibre Glass Co. is located over in Shakarpur Village, specifically at Wz-238 in the Shakur Basti area. Working with fibre glass is a messy business, so our shop is usually covered in a bit of dust and leftovers from the projects we are working on. It’s not a place where you’d want to wear your best clothes. We’ve got various molds and sheets of material leaning against the walls. The air usually smells a bit like resin and chemicals, which is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. It’s a physical job and it can get really warm in here when the sun is beating down on the roof. Shakur Basti is an industrial-feeling place with a lot of small workshops like ours. We know most of the other guys working on this block. We don’t have a fancy office for meetings; most of the time we just talk to people right there on the shop floor. Our tools are old but they still work perfectly fine for what we need. We’ve been doing this for a long time and have seen many people come and go from the village. It’s honest, hard work that keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes we stay late to finish a big order if the deadline is tight. It’s just how things are for a small fibre glass outfit in Shakarpur.
