I’ve got my studio in Rohini Sector 15, specifically at A-4/46 on the second floor of Alok Kunj. It’s right near the Junior Sachdeva Public School. You can often hear the school bell or the kids playing if the windows are open. The studio isn’t huge, but it works for what I do. I have my cameras, some backdrops, and a computer for editing. It’s a second-floor walk-up, so there’s no lift, but it’s only a few steps. I spend a lot of my time here going through thousands of photos or setting up lights for a shoot. It’s a bit of a lived-in space. There are lens caps and battery chargers on almost every flat surface. I don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room. Usually, I’m just here by myself or with a helper. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so it’s fairly calm. People usually find the building easily enough because of the school nearby. I like the light that comes in through the balcony in the late afternoon. It’s a practical space where I can focus on the pictures without any distractions. Sometimes the editing takes all night, so the kettle is always ready for more tea. It's just a regular workroom for a photographer, nothing more and nothing less. I’ve lived in Delhi long enough to know that a simple space is often the best.
