Samkaksha Foundation

Samkaksha Foundation is based at House Number 64, Block A, Pocket 1, in Sector 17, Rohini. This is in the North West part of Delhi. It’s a residential neighborhood for the most part, so it’s fairly quiet compared to the city center. We like that because it lets us get our work done without too much distraction. The foundation operates out of this house, and it feels more like a home than an office. We have a few rooms set up for our meetings and all the papers we have to keep track of. Rohini is a big area, but Sector 17 has its own little community feel. We know the people living nearby and they know us. Most of what we do at Samkaksha Foundation is just helping out where there’s a gap. We don't have a fancy mission statement or a team of experts. We are just people who live here and want to see things get a bit better. Sometimes we spend the whole day just answering the phone or talking to people who stop by the gate. It’s not glamorous, but it is important to us. We try to keep our overhead low so we can focus on the actual work. It’s been a good experience so far and we’ve learned a lot about our neighborhood. We are just happy to be at House 64, doing what we can for the folks in Rohini.
