Royal Industries (India)

Out here at B-90 on G. T. Karnal Road, things move at a pretty fast pace. Royal Industries (India) is basically a big workshop where we spend most of our waking hours. The G.T. Road is always busy, so there’s a constant drone of trucks and cars passing by at all hours. Our space is filled with the smell of metal and whatever we are working on that day. It’s a big, open area with high ceilings that catch all the echoes from the machines. We don’t have a fancy reception area. If you come by, you’ll probably just see us in the middle of something, maybe with a wrench or a clipboard in hand. We’ve been in this spot for a good while, and the walls show it. There are marks from where we moved heavy crates and old calendars still hanging up because nobody bothered to take them down. We drink a lot of chai to keep going, especially during the long afternoon shifts when the sun is hitting the roof. It’s not the kind of place you’d come to for a polished corporate presentation. We just have our machines, our tools, and a lot of work to get through. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the back door, but we just put a bucket there and keep moving. It’s just a regular industrial unit run by people who know their way around a factory floor and we prefer it that way.
