R.K.Motors

R.K.Motors is located at D-05 in Azad Colony, which is part of Budh Vihar Ph-2. We are pretty close to the area near Rohini Sec 23, so people from that neighborhood often drop by. The shop is usually full of the smell of oil and old engines. It’s not a polished showroom. We have tools scattered around and the floor is never really clean because we are always working on something. My hands are usually greasy by ten in the morning. We’ve been in this spot in New Delhi-110086 for a long time now. It’s a local business where we know most of our customers by their first names. We don't have a fancy waiting room. If you come by, you’ll probably just stand and chat while we look at your car. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the summer, so we keep the big fan going all day. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting parts and crawling under vehicles. We enjoy the mechanical side of things, even when a bolt is stuck and won’t budge. Budh Vihar is a lively place to work. There’s always someone passing by or a street vendor calling out. We just focus on the task in front of us. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living and that's just how it is for us here. We usually close up once the sun goes down and the street gets quiet.
