We have been at the Transport Centre in Punjabi Bagh for quite a while now. If you have ever been down here in New Delhi, you know how busy it gets with all the trucks and loaders moving around. Our office at number 23 is just a regular spot where we handle the daily grind of logistics. It is not a fancy place, mostly just some desks and piles of paperwork and the sound of horns outside all day. People come and go all the time. We spend most of our time on the phone or talking to drivers who are heading out to different parts of the country. We have been part of this neighborhood for a long time. Sometimes the traffic on the main road makes things very slow, but we manage to get things sorted out somehow. It is a lot of coordination. There is usually someone drinking tea and discussing routes near the entrance. We do not really do the big corporate talk here. It is just about getting the goods from one point to another without too much trouble. The staff knows the regulars by name. We deal with the heat in the summer and the cold Delhi winters while keeping the trucks moving. It is hard work, and it is often dusty, but that is just how the transport business is in this part of town. We keep our heads down and focus on the job at hand. It is mostly about making sure things do not fall apart when things get hectic.
