Raymond Plastic

Raymond Plastic has been operating out of Phoolbagh in the Rampura area for a long time. Our unit is 22/11, and it’s right in the middle of a bunch of other small factories and warehouses. You can usually hear the sound of the injection machines running before you even walk through the door. We make all sorts of plastic items, mostly things that people use in their homes or for packaging. It’s a dusty place because of all the raw plastic pellets we have stored in sacks near the entrance. The floor is concrete and has a few cracks, but it works for what we need. I spend most of my day making sure the heat on the machines is set right. If it’s too hot, the plastic burns, and if it’s too cool, it doesn't mold properly. We don't have a big fancy office with air conditioning. My desk is just a small wooden table in the corner covered in invoices and old tea cups. We have about six guys who work the shifts. They’ve been with us for years and know the machines better than I do. We aren't trying to be some massive corporation. We just want to keep the production line moving and get our orders delivered to the local markets on time. It’s a lot of hard work and sweat, especially in the summer months when the shed gets really warm. We just keep our heads down and work.
