If you ever find yourself near Netaji Subhash Place, you probably know how busy it gets around the North Ex Tower. Our office, Orosilber Joaillerie Pvt. Ltd., is up on the eighth floor in room 808. It is a bit of a climb if the elevators are acting slow, which they sometimes do during the lunch rush. Out the window, you can see the Ring Road and all the cars jammed up in Pitampura traffic. Inside, it is a lot quieter. We spend our hours looking at very small things, mostly jewelry pieces and designs that need a lot of attention. It is a big contrast to the noise outside on the street. We have been operating from this building for a while now, and the security guards downstairs know us all by name. Sometimes it feels like we are living in a little bubble of gold and silver while the rest of Delhi is rushing past below us. We don't have a huge showroom with fancy lights, just a workspace where we get things done. It gets pretty cluttered with tools and sketches, especially when we are trying to finish something before the day ends. Usually, someone brings in snacks in the afternoon, and we take a quick break before going back to the benches. It is just a regular office life where we happen to make nice things for people to wear. We keep the doors open and the radio playing low in the background while we work.
