Original Wiper India

We are over here in Pooth Khurd, working out of 516 and 517 on Khasra No 154. It is a busy place and most days it gets pretty dusty with all the traffic coming through the area. We spend our time putting together wipers and making sure everything is sorted for the orders that need to go out. There is no big fancy office here, just a lot of metal and rubber and people getting things done. Some of the guys have been here for years and they know the machines better than anyone else. It’s not a quiet job, there’s always something banging or a truck pulling up to the gate. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too hot, though in the summer it doesn't really matter because it’s going to be hot anyway. The space is filled with parts and boxes piled up high. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to check a delivery or something like that. Most of the work is done with our hands. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit around and talk for a bit until it comes back. It is just a normal factory life in this part of Delhi. We don’t have any slick brochures or anything like that. If someone comes by, they usually just find us at the back near the assembly area. It’s a lot of repetition, day in and day out, but the work is steady.
