National Physical Laboratory

We are located at number 61 in Sharda Niketan, which is over in the Pitam Pura area of Delhi. It’s a busy neighborhood, but our little corner stays relatively calm. We’ve been working out of this spot for a while, dealing with all the various things that come through the National Physical Laboratory. There’s always someone coming in or out with equipment or files. It’s a practical workplace where we mostly focus on the measurements and technical tasks that fill up our days. We don't have fancy furniture or a big reception area; it’s mostly just desks, computers, and a lot of books and manuals. The commute in Pitam Pura can be a bit of a mess sometimes, but once we’re inside, we just get to work. We have a few rooms dedicated to different tasks, and the layout is a bit cramped because of all the stuff we’ve gathered over the years. It feels like a real working space, with notes stuck to the walls and half-finished projects on the tables. We know the local vendors around the 110034 zip code area pretty well. Sometimes we have visitors from other labs, but mostly it’s just us. We keep things simple and try to stay on top of the workload. It’s a lot of sitting and thinking, punctuated by the occasional trip out to look at something specific. It’s a good place to be if you like getting things right and being part of the community.
