Motor World

Our place, Motor World, is over at Ju 28 A in Pitam Pura. We’re situated right across from the District Park, which is actually quite nice because there’s a bit of green to look at instead of just concrete. Being near the City Park Hotel makes it easy for people to find us, though the traffic in this part of Delhi can be a real headache sometimes. The shop itself is pretty straightforward. We deal with cars and everything that comes with them. On a typical day, there’s a lot of grease and the sound of tools hitting the floor. We don't really have a big staff, just a few of us who know our way around a motor. The sidewalk outside usually has a car or two parked for a quick fix or an inspection. It gets quite dusty around here, so we’re always cleaning the glass. Inside the shop, things are a bit cluttered with parts and boxes, but it’s a working space, not a museum. We get a mix of regulars from the neighborhood and people just passing through who saw the sign. It’s a decent spot to work, even if it gets loud. We just focus on the task at hand and try to get people back on the road as fast as we can. It’s a simple life, mostly spent under a hood.
