Modern Engineers

Modern Engineers is based at B-38 in the Industrial Area on Lawrence Road. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s always full of activity and trucks moving back and forth. Our building isn't anything special to look at from the outside, but it serves its purpose. We spend most of our hours here among the tools and the smell of oil. It’s a bit of a maze getting around some days because of all the materials stacked up. We’ve been at this spot for quite some time now. The morning starts with opening up the heavy shutters and letting some light in. Lawrence Road can get really jammed up, so we try to get most of our heavy lifting done before the traffic peaks. We aren't big on formalities here. Most of us wear work clothes that have seen better days. There's a small desk in the corner where we keep the records, but mostly we are out on the floor. The regulars know the way, and we don't get many random walk-ins. It’s an honest way to make a living. We have our routine, and we stick to it. Sometimes we stay late when a project is behind, but usually, we head home when the other shops start closing. It’s a decent neighborhood for this kind of work. We just keep our heads down and do what's required. There is plenty of noise from the neighboring units, but we have just gotten used to it.
