Madras Soap Mills

Madras Soap Mills is up on the fourth floor of the Gditl Towers in Pitampura. Being right on the Ring Road means we get a lot of noise from the traffic, but the view of the city is actually pretty good from up here. We’ve been in the soap business for a long time, though the office moved to this tower more recently. It’s a bit different from the old mill days, but the work is basically the same. We handle the distribution and the accounts from this unit. There are boxes of soap samples everywhere, so the whole place smells like lemon and sandalwood most of the time. Sometimes the elevators in the building take forever, so we end up standing around talking to the people from the other offices. Our desks are usually covered in invoices and product labels. It’s a busy environment, especially when we are preparing for a large shipment. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything. We just rely on the fact that people know our name and what we do. The staff is pretty relaxed, and we don't have a strict dress code or anything like that. Just regular people trying to sell soap in a crowded market. Sometimes the office gets a bit dusty with all the papers, but we try to keep it organized enough to find what we need. It’s just a normal workplace with normal problems.
