Kabir Eye Clinic

Out here in Rohini at PlotNo 3/18 C Block, we’ve set up Kabir Eye Clinic on the ground floor. Being right by Manav Chowk means there is always something going on outside, but we’ve got our space tucked away enough that it stays fairly calm for the eye exams. We’ve got the usual charts on the wall and the machines for checking vision set up near the back. People from Sector No 15 often just walk over when they realize their old glasses aren’t doing the trick anymore. We see a lot of older folks who need their eyes looked at and kids who are having trouble seeing the board at school. The room is painted a light shade and we keep some magazines on the table, though they’re usually a few months old. We don’t go for anything too fancy here. It’s just a place to get your eyes checked and talk about what’s going on with your sight. Sometimes the door sticks a little when it’s humid out, but we’re used to it. We take our time with each person because rushing with eyes doesn’t make much sense. It feels good to be part of the community here at Manav Chowk. Most days are steady, with a mix of new faces and neighbors we’ve known for years coming in to get their prescriptions updated or just to ask a quick question about an eye drop.
