Jairoop Narrow Fabrics

Our factory is at C-1/32 B on Lawrence Road. We are in the Keshav Puram area of New Delhi. Lawrence Road is known for its industrial vibe, and we fit right in. We make narrow fabrics, which basically means lots of elastic, tapes, and ribbons. If you walk into our space, you will see rows of looms and machines working away. It is quite loud, so we have to use hand signals sometimes. There are huge spools of thread in every color you can imagine. We don't have a fancy showroom. If you want to see what we make, we just pull a roll off the shelf. The office is just a small partitioned area in the corner where the ledger books are kept. It gets pretty dusty with all the lint from the fabric, so we are constantly sweeping. We have a group of guys who have been running these machines for years. They know exactly how to fix them when they jam. We just focus on keeping the production going. We don't have a mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just make the fabric and send it out to the garment makers. It is straightforward work. We take our tea outside by the gate when we need a breather from the noise. It is an honest living, and we take it one roll of fabric at a time.
