We are over in Gandhi Vihar, specifically at D 240/241. It’s a regular neighborhood in New Delhi, and our office is just a plain spot where we coordinate everything. We work with bitumen and roads. It’s messy work. When you spend your day thinking about asphalt and paving, you don't really care much for fancy office furniture. We have a small team. Most of us have been doing this for years, so we don't need to explain much to each other anymore. We just get the schedules ready and make sure the crews have what they need. Gandhi Vihar can get pretty quiet compared to the rest of Delhi, which is nice for getting work done. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Usually, the work speaks for itself when the road is smooth. It’s a lot of early mornings and late nights, especially when we have a big stretch of road to finish. We’ve got some old desks and a computer that’s seen better days, but it works. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a corporate look. We just want to make sure the mix is right and the job gets finished before the monsoon hits. It’s a simple life, focused on the grit and the heat of the road.
