Gupta Novelties

Gupta Novelties is tucked away in Shalimar Bagh at Bs-98A. It’s a local spot where we keep all sorts of things on the shelves. Most days are spent dusting the displays and helping folks who live nearby. Shalimar Bagh is a nice place to be, though parking can be a bit of a headache sometimes. We have been here for quite some time now. The shop isn't huge but we make do with the space we have. You’ll find all kinds of small items and gifts piled up. It gets crowded when a few people come in at once. We don't really do much advertising, people just know where we are. My family helps out with the stock. Sometimes the light in the back flickers, we need to fix that. We open up early and stay until the evening. Usually, it's just the sound of the street outside and the radio playing softly. We know most of the people who walk past Bs-98A. It’s just a regular business. We don't try to be anything else. Gupta Novelties has been a part of this street for years. I spend a lot of time organizing the little boxes and making sure everything has a price on it. It’s honest work. The floor is a bit worn down from people walking in and out. That's just how it goes in a busy neighborhood like Shalimar Bagh. Sometimes we forget to turn the sign off.
