Grand Tools

Grand Tools is located at 2/13-A on 1st Reddy Street. We’ve been in Ekkattuthangal for a good while. The shop is filled with all kinds of things for people who work with their hands. It smells like metal and oil in here, which we don't mind. We spend most of our time helping people find the right wrench or drill bit for their specific job. It’s a small space, so it gets crowded quickly with boxes and parts. We know where everything is, even if it looks a bit messy to someone walking in for the first time. We aren't a big chain store with bright lights. It’s just us here. We’ve got shelves reaching all the way up to the ceiling. Sometimes we have to hunt for a specific part in the back for a few minutes. People come to us because they know we’ve been around and we know our stuff. We don't have a fancy sales pitch or uniforms. We just show you what we have and tell you how it works. It’s practical work. We’ve seen a lot of local projects start with tools from our shelves, which is a nice feeling. It’s good to be part of the neighborhood like that. We just open up the shutters in the morning and do our thing until it’s time to go home. It’s a steady life and we wouldn't change it much.
