Fitness Tree

Fitness Tree is tucked away in the basement at 301 Tagore Park Extension. If you know where the State Bank of India is or that Nathu Sweet shop, then you can find us easily because we are right opposite. It is a basement gym, so it has that focused, underground feel to it. We do not have windows, but the fans keep the air moving well enough. People from around Tagore Park come here because it is close to home. We have a good amount of weights and some machines that have seen a lot of use but still work perfectly fine. We do not go for the latest gadgets; we just stick to what works. The floor is covered in those rubber mats to keep the noise down when people drop their dumbbells. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when the evening rush hits, but everyone manages to share the space. We are just a bunch of people who like to stay active. There is no dress code or anything like that—just wear whatever is comfortable. We keep a cooler with water in the corner and sometimes have some fruit out. The neighborhood is mostly families, so we get a lot of parents and their college-age kids coming in together. It is a friendly atmosphere without any of that ego you find in bigger gyms. We just like being the local spot near the sweets shop.
