We are over in Rampura, specifically at 16-C in the M.I.G. Flats. It is a bit of a tight squeeze because we are working out of a flat. You have to climb the stairs to get to us, and the hallway is often narrow. Inside, we have turned the main rooms into a workspace. There are cartons stacked in the corners and piles of fabric samples on the dining table. It is a very hands-on kind of place. We spend a lot of time on the computer, but also a lot of time physically checking the items we are sending out. The fans hum all day long. Sometimes the neighbors’ kids are playing in the common area outside, so you hear a bit of shouting and laughing while we are trying to work. It’s not like a corporate office at all. We wear casual clothes and drink tea out of mismatched mugs. The kitchen area is mostly used for storing extra packing materials. We have to be careful not to block the doorway with too many boxes. It is a bit of a juggle to manage everything from here, but we have a system that works for us. We know the courier guys by name, and they know exactly where to find us in the building. It gets a bit cramped when the new stock arrives, but we manage to find a spot for everything eventually.
