Delhi School Of Architecture & Design

The school is located at Pitampura 705. It’s a place where things are always a bit messy, mostly because there are students everywhere with their models and sheets. If you walk in, you’ll see piles of cardboard and glue sticks on almost every table. It’s not a shiny, perfect institution you see in brochures. We’ve got marks on the walls from where someone leaned a drawing board and floors that need a good sweep after a model-making session. The energy here is just a lot of young people trying to figure out how buildings work. We spend our days in these rooms talking about structures and looking at designs. Pitampura is a busy area, so there’s always something happening outside, but inside we are usually focused on the work at hand. It’s not just about the classes; it’s about the time spent sitting around and talking through ideas. We don’t have a big fancy lobby. You just come in and you’re right in the middle of it all. Some days are quieter than others, especially during exam times when everyone is glued to their desks. We like it this way though. It feels real and grounded. There’s no pretense here at the Delhi School Of Architecture & Design. We just provide the space and the tools, and the students do the rest. It gets a bit cramped sometimes when everyone is working on a big deadline, but we manage to get through the day together.
