Delhi Metro

Our small branch of the Delhi Metro is tucked away at House Number 125 in Village Mungesh Pur. It’s near the Qutab Garh post office area, which is a bit far out for some people. We don't have the big glass buildings you see at the main stations in the city. Instead, it’s a quiet spot in the village where we handle some of the ground work for the metro. Sometimes we are out in the field checking things and other times we are just here at the desk. The address might seem a bit tricky to find if you aren't from around Delhi-110039, but we manage just fine. There are about four of us usually here at any time. We talk about the tracks and the logistics while drinking chai. It’s a bit of a commute for some of the staff, but it’s a nice change of pace from the city noise and pollution. We don't do anything flashy here. The office has the basic stuff we need to track things. It’s an old-fashioned way of working in a modern company. We see the seasons change from our windows here in Mungesh Pur. It’s not like the corporate headquarters with the elevators and fancy lobbies. It’s more like a local outpost where we make sure things are running behind the scenes. We just keep our heads down and do what needs to be done for the metro system from this little corner of the world. It’s quiet and we like it that way.
