Calcutta Centre

We are located inside the Aggarwal City Mall, right at G-76. It’s easy to find because we’re directly opposite the M2K Cinema. Being in Pitampura is busy, especially on the weekends when families come out for a movie and then wander through the mall. We sell a lot of things that remind people of Calcutta, like certain types of sarees and traditional items. The shop isn't huge, but we’ve managed to fit a lot of stock into the cupboards. Sometimes when a big group comes in after a film lets out, it gets quite loud and we have to scramble to show everyone what they want to see. The mall air conditioning is nice, though sometimes it gets a bit too cold near our door. I spend a lot of time folding and refolding the fabrics so they look decent on the shelves. We have a small stool behind the counter where I sit when the mall is quiet in the mornings. My hands are usually stained with a bit of ink from writing out the bills by hand. People come to us because they know we have the stuff they can't find in the big chain stores. We don't do much in the way of decoration, just some simple lights and a few pictures on the wall. It’s just a plain shop where we try to do our work honestly. It’s nothing more than that.
