Our office is down on S.B. Road in the Ichapure Nawabganj area. If you are looking for the zip code, it’s 743144. It’s a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the center of the city, but it’s a good spot for us. The building is right on the main road, so we see all the buses and rickshaws going by all day long. It can be a bit noisy when the horns start blaring, but we’ve mostly tuned it out by now. Inside, the office is pretty basic. We have a few desks pushed together and some old shelves that hold all our files and folders. There’s a small corner where we make tea and sometimes eat our lunch when we are too busy to go out. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who have been doing this for a long time. The office feels a bit cramped sometimes because of all the paper we have lying around, but we know where everything is. We don't spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders. It’s just a functional workspace where we can get through our daily tasks without too much distraction. Most of the people who come to see us are locals from around Nawabganj or the nearby stations. We’ve been part of this community for years and it feels right. We keep a spare umbrella by the door for the monsoon.
