Ganesh Seth Pan Mahal

My little shop is right at Gandhi More in Kanchrapara. It’s not a big place at all, just a small spot where people stop by throughout the day. I spend most of my time preparing pan and selling small items that people need on the go. It’s a lively corner of the town, always someone passing by or stopping for a chat. I’ve seen kids grow up and become adults while sitting behind this counter. The mornings are usually for setting things up, cleaning the jars, and making sure I have enough betel leaves ready. It gets quite busy in the evenings when people are heading home from work. They want a quick break or something to chew on. I don't have any employees, it’s just me here. The shop is simple, with some shelves and a bit of a counter. It’s not fancy, but it serves the purpose. Sometimes the rain blows in and I have to move things back, or the sun is too bright and I need to adjust the shade. I like being part of the community here at Gandhi More. You hear all the local news and gossip while working. It’s a steady life, nothing too exciting, but it keeps me occupied. I don't use a computer or anything, just a small drawer for change and my hands for making the pan. It’s how I’ve always done it for years. I know most of my customers by name, and they know where to find me if they need something.
