Arunachal Tea & Industries Pvt. Ltd. is basically based at the Mankota Tea Estate. If you’ve ever been to this part of the country, you know that life revolves around the tea bushes. Mankota is a place where things move a bit slower, following the seasons rather than the clock. We spend our days out in the fields or near the old factory buildings. It's a lot of green rows as far as you can see. The work is hard, especially when the sun is beating down or when the rains start and won't stop for weeks. We have a lot of people living and working right here on the estate. It’s a whole community, really. Our office isn't anything special, just a place to keep the records and manage the payroll. Most of the industry part of our name happens in the processing sheds where the leaves are withered and rolled. You can smell the tea being fired from a mile away. We don't really do much else besides tea. It’s what we know. The machinery is old but we keep it running with a lot of grease and patience. We’ve been part of the Mankota landscape for a long time. It’s just honest work, growing something that people all over the world end up drinking in their kitchens.
