Tulsi Tea

You can find us at Plot No. 115 in Canacona, right along the National Highway 17. We are situated pretty close to Susheela Garage, which makes it easy for people to spot us when they’re pulling off the main road. Being on the highway means we see a lot of travelers and truck drivers who need to stock up on tea for their journeys. It’s a dusty location because of all the traffic, so there’s a lot of cleaning to do every day. We deal mostly in bulk tea and loose leaves. The shop itself is pretty basic. We have some wooden benches and stacks of crates everywhere. It’s not the kind of place with air conditioning or soft music. We just focus on getting the tea out to the people who need it. The weather in this part of Goa can get really sticky, so we spend a lot of time making sure our storage stays cool and dry. Sometimes the local monkeys from the nearby trees cause a bit of a stir, but they mostly stay away. We’ve known the guys at the garage next door for years, and we often share a cup of tea when things are slow. We don't do any big promotions. We just keep our doors open for whoever stops by. It’s a simple life out here on the highway, and we’re happy to keep it that way. We just keep moving boxes and weighing out bags for whoever walks in.
