Terrys Supermarket

We've been here next to the Betim Ferry Wharf for quite a while now. Terry’s is just a regular spot where people stop by after getting off the boat. It's usually pretty busy in the mornings when the first ferries come in and everyone is rushing to get to work or start their day. We try to keep the milk cold and the bread fresh on the shelves for everyone. Sometimes the empty crates pile up near the entrance and the floor needs a good sweep, but that's just how it goes in a busy shop. It gets a bit dusty from the road and the river breeze that comes off the water. We know most of the faces who walk through the door every day. It isn't anything fancy or modern. Just rows of groceries, some snacks, and those household things people always seem to need in a hurry. My cousin helps out on the weekends when it gets extra crowded with shoppers. We spend a lot of time checking the dates on the cans and chatting with the neighbors about what's going on in Betim. The humidity from being so close to the water gets to the labels sometimes and they peel. If we don't have something in stock, we try to remember to get it for the next time someone asks. It’s mostly about making sure folks around here can grab what they need without having to travel too far. The light in the back storage area flickers occasionally. We just keep the counter clear so people can put their bags down.
