The pottery studio is located at No. 274 in Borvanwado. We are in the village of Nachinola, which is part of the Bardez area. It is a quiet and nice place to work on pottery. If you are looking for us, we are right near the Nachinola football ground. You can often hear people playing or practicing over there while we are working with the clay. Pottery is a slow process and being in a spot like Borvanwado helps us stay focused on the wheels and the kilns. It is not a factory or a corporate office; it is just a space where Sylvia Kerkar and the rest of us make things by hand. The studio has a lot of shelves filled with finished pieces and things that are still drying. We get some dust and clay on the floors, but that is just part of the job. Nachinola is a beautiful part of Bardez and it feels right to have a pottery place here. We spend our days mixing clay, shaping bowls, and firing the kiln when it is full. It is simple work that takes a lot of time and patience. We do not have a fancy storefront, just the workspace at No. 274. People sometimes stop by when they are near the football ground to see what we are making. It is a very local and low-key operation. We try to keep the kilns running on a regular schedule throughout the week.
