S. V. Industries

Our place is located at Plot No. 69 in the Kundaim Industrial Estate. If you’ve ever been out this way, you know it’s a lot of factories and sheds. We’ve been operating S. V. Industries from this spot for a good bit of time. The rain gets pretty heavy around here in the monsoon, and the shed roof makes a lot of noise, but we keep working through it. It’s mostly manual work and machine operation. We don’t have a big fancy reception area because that’s not really what we’re about. Most of the space is taken up by the equipment and materials. We show up early, get the machines warmed up, and start on whatever orders are on the board for that day. Sometimes things break down and we have to spend the afternoon fixing a motor or a belt. That’s just part of being in an industrial estate. The neighbors are mostly other workshops, so there’s always trucks moving in and out of the lane. We know the guys next door and sometimes trade tools when someone is in a pinch. It’s a dusty, loud environment, but we’re used to it. We don't spend much time on the computer unless it’s for billing or looking up a part. Most of our day is spent on our feet, making sure everything is coming off the line like it should. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do here. There is a small tea stall at the corner where we usually take our afternoon break.
