Ruchi Masala

Ruchi Masala is located in a place called Karakyathovam, which is in the village of Revora in Bardez, North Goa. It’s a quiet part of the world compared to the touristy beaches most people think of when they hear Goa. We are surrounded by a lot of greenery and old trees. Our building is a simple structure where we handle all our masala production. The air often smells like turmeric and chilies because that is what we are working with all day. We don't have a big corporate structure here at Ruchi Masala. It’s just a few of us making sure everything is done the right way. Revora is a small place and everyone knows where we are. We get our work done during the day and usually things wrap up as the sun goes down. The roads around Bardez can be winding and narrow, which keeps the pace of life a bit slower. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to keep making our masalas right here in Karakyathovam. Sometimes the rain in the monsoon season makes it hard to get around, but we manage. It’s a peaceful spot to have a business and we like the local feel of being in North Goa without all the noise of the bigger towns. People know us by name here and we like that because it feels like home.
