Goldback Jewellers is located in Sonarwada, which is in the Verla area near Mapusa. The name Sonarwada is actually quite fitting because it’s where a lot of goldsmiths used to be based. We operate care of Mahesh R Yadav. It’s a much more personal feel here than what you would find in a big commercial city. The pace of life in this part of North Goa is slower, and we prefer it that way. We work from a space that feels more like a traditional workshop than a fancy office. Most of our time is spent crafting and checking various pieces of jewelry. It’s an old-fashioned way of working that we’ve stuck with for a while. We don’t have a flashy storefront with big signs or bright lights. Our focus is really just on the work we do at our benches every day. Being in Verla, we see a mix of local neighbors and the occasional person passing through the area. We don't use marketing talk or try to sound like some big company. We are just local people working with gold and jewelry. The days are generally quiet, which is very helpful when you are working on very small and fine details. We don’t rush things here. It’s a simple life in Sonarwada. We open up in the morning, have a cup of tea, and start our work. We’re just happy to be part of the local community and do a solid day’s work for everyone.
