Bhagini Atmanirbhar Social Foundation

We started Bhagini Atmanirbhar Social Foundation right here at 403, Bahadarpurparola because we saw a lot of things that needed fixing around our neighborhood. It’s not a fancy office or anything, just a spot where we gather to figure out how to help folks get on their own two feet. Most of us living around here know each other anyway. Some days are busier than others. We spend a lot of time talking to the women in the community. There’s always someone stopping by with a question or just needing a hand with something small. It gets pretty loud sometimes when everyone is talking at once. We don't have a big team or a huge budget. It is mostly just us working out of this space. Life in Bahadarpurparola moves at its own pace and we try to keep up with what people actually need today, not what a book says they need. Sometimes we get things right on the first try and other times it takes a bit of back and forth to see what works. We keep the doors open and the chairs ready. It’s just about being there and doing what we can with what we have. If you walk past number 403, you’ll probably see us inside drinking tea or looking over some papers. That is how we operate. Nothing too complicated, just neighborly stuff. We don't worry much about how we look to the outside world. We just focus on the people walking through that door every day.
