Barretto Stores

You can find Barretto Stores tucked away in Cortalim Village, right near the Verna Industrial Estate. It’s an interesting spot because we get a mix of people from the village and workers from the nearby factories. Because of the location in Mormugao, things can get pretty humid, so we try to keep the shop well-ventilated. We have been running this place for a while now, and the shelves are packed with all sorts of things, from basic groceries to small hardware items that people might need in a hurry. The building itself is an older one, so it has that lived-in feel. We don't really bother with decorations or anything like that. Our focus is just on making sure we have what people are looking for. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time navigating the narrow roads around here, which can be a bit of a headache. Most of our regulars are neighbors who have been coming here for years. They usually stop for a bit of a chat before heading home. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the shift changes at the industrial estate when things get a bit more hectic. We just keep the doors open and wait for the next person to walk in. There is always something to tidy up or a new box to unpack. It’s just a normal day for us and we like keeping it that way.
